Mistake #3: Using a low-end charger
They’re available everywhere: in supermarkets, gas stations, or online at low prices. Uncertified chargers may seem practical and economical… but they’re often poorly designed , without adequate protection against surges or overheating.
Result: in the long term, they can damage the internal circuits of your phone , or even make the battery unstable. A false good deal!
Preferably: original or certified chargers ( MFI for Apple products, or approved by your phone brand). It’s a small investment that can save you a lot of trouble.
And by the way, do you really need to charge to 100%?

Contrary to popular belief, charging your phone to 100% is not ideal. Experts advise staying within a range of 40 to 80% . This is the range in which the battery functions optimally and wears out less quickly .
Likewise, you don’t need to wait until your smartphone is completely empty before plugging it back in. It’s better to do several small regular recharges throughout the day.
Also avoid: overnight charging. Leaving your phone plugged in all night unnecessarily keeps it at 100%, which accelerates battery wear over the long term.
The right charging ritual is…
- Charge in a shaded, cool place.
- Use a certified charger.
- Do not use your phone while charging.
- Avoid exceeding 80%.
- Never wait for 0% to recharge.
With a few simple actions, you can extend the life of your smartphone , avoid replacing it too soon… and do something useful for the environment.
