Step-by-Step Preparation
Wash Everything Thoroughly
Rinse all fruits and vegetables under cold running water to remove any dirt, pesticides, or residue. Even if the produce is organic, washing is important.Cut Into Manageable Pieces
Chop cucumbers, celery, and apples into chunks that will fit easily into your juicer chute. Remove apple cores and seeds if desired, although most juicers can handle them.Prepare Your Juicer
I use a slow-masticating juicer (like the Hurom model shown in the images), which extracts juice at a low speed to preserve nutrients and minimize oxidation.Juicing Process
Start by adding leafy greens like spinach first, followed by cucumbers and celery to help push the greens through. Finish with apples to add sweetness and flush out any remaining pulp in the machine.Mix and Bottle
Stir the juice in a large container to ensure even flavor. Pour into glass bottles for storage—this helps preserve freshness and prevents the juice from absorbing unwanted flavors.
Storage and Shelf Life
Fresh juice is best consumed immediately to get the maximum nutritional value. However, if stored in airtight glass bottles in the refrigerator, it can last up to 72 hours. The sooner you drink it, the better it will taste and the more nutrients you’ll retain.
Tip: Fill bottles to the very top to minimize air exposure and slow oxidation.
When and How to Drink Green Juice
For the best results, drink green juice on an empty stomach—either in the morning or as an afternoon energy boost. This allows your body to absorb the nutrients quickly without interference from other foods.
Green juice can be enjoyed as part of:
A daily wellness routine
A detox or cleanse program
A post-workout refreshment
A healthy substitute for sugary beverages
